Barry Novack

Barry Novack has been a licensed attorney in California since 1973. Mr. Novack focuses his practice in the areas of plaintiff's personal injury and wrongful death matters, including aviation accidents, amusement park ride accidents, motorcycle accidents, products liability, and medical negligence.

Mr. Novack earned his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles in 1973. He received his Bachelor of Sciences in Mechanical Engineering, magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California in 1964. He also holds a Masters in Engineering from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California.

Mr. Novack is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice.  In 1987 and 1988, he received the Presidential Award from the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Novack has lectured and moderated at attorney seminars throughout California.

Mr. Novack has been selected by his peers as a Southern California Super Lawyer for the past five years in personal injury and products liability. He has also been selected by Who's Who Legal as one of California's leading practitioners in his field, noting that he "brings his substantial engineering background to bear on his aviation work, which encompassed product liability, plaintiff personal injury, wrongful death and aircraft accidents."

B'nei Akiva, 66 Cal. App. 4th 1269 (1998); Meritplan Insurance Co. v. Superior Court (Wexler), 124 Cal. App. 3d 237 (1981); Simmons v. Wexler, 94 Cal. App. 3d 1007 (1979); and Wilson v. Harley Davidson Motor Co., 67 Cal. App. 3d 678  (1977). He has served as counsel in several high-profile litigation matters, including achieving a multi-million dollar verdict for a woman who was drugged and raped, including significant punitive damages. He has also won judgments and obtained significant settlements against General Motors, Ford, Harley Davidson, Yamaha, Honda, Levelor, Gerber, BMW, Evel Knievel, Walt Disney World Co., Six Flags, and many other major corporations.

Mr. Novack has made appearances on Larry King Live, Dateline NBC, and 48 Hours. He has been featured in the Los Angeles Times for his participation in high-profile cases and for his significant verdicts. Mr. Novack is the recipient of an "AV" peer rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the national directory of attorneys. This is the highest possible rating an attorney can receive, indicating preeminent legal ability and the utmost ethical standards.

Samuel Winokur is an associate with the Law Offices of Barry Novack. Mr. Winokur earned his Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC. As an undergraduate, he attended the University of Maryland - College Park. He was admitted to practice law in Maryland in 2007, the District of Columbia in 2008, and California in 2010. Prior to working at the Law Offices of Barry Novack, Mr. Winokur was an associate with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in Washington, DC.
